Rice Pudding for Easy Dessert

Having some dinner party with friends, but don't know what to offer for dessert? Rice Pudding is the best solution. Why? Easy to make, easy ingredients, and almost 95% people who try it first time love it and demand for more! I don't know exactly where this dishes come from, but my guess is from India. Anyone know better than me? Just leave your comment later :)

First, ingredients. Well, almost every houses in Australia must have it in their house, so this is good for last minute dessert if you don't prepare anything beforehand.
- 1 cup of rice (short-medium-long grain or even jasmine rice is fine, i prefer medium since i love short fatty rice)
- 2 cup of water
- 2 cup of milk (milk is so cheap in Australia, that's why every house must have at least a bottle of milk in their fridge)
- 1/2 cup of sugar (or 3/4, well it is a dessert, sweet IS A MUST!!!)
- 1 beaten egg
- 1 table spoon of butter
- 1 tea spoon of cinnamon powder
- 1 tea spoon of vanilla extract / syrup (anything for the aroma)

Well, you might be don't have cinnamon or vanilla extract, but this is quite important ingredients, so grab a car key and go to nearest supermarket and grab some! Hehehe...

Okay, lets start!
First, boil the water, after the water is boiling, put the rice in (ahhh don't forget to always wash the rice before use). Using high-heat, keep on stirring so the rice won't stuck at the bottom of your pot. This is easy dishes but really need your patience while you work on it.

Keep stirring until only 10% water left on the pot, just like a plain porridge.

Then you can put 2 cup of milk in, still in high heat and keep stirring. Never leave the rice more than 1 minute without stirring, do not let the rice stuck and burnt at the bottom of your pot. But if somehow they stuck, don't scratch it, leave it, you really don't want to ruin the rest of your rice pudding.

Once it boiled, you can reduce the heat into medium heat, put the sugar in, and still keep stirring until it's nice and shiny and a little bit less watery.

If you see the rice already looks like the picture above, you can put vanilla, and cinnamon powder, also the beaten egg, and melted butter in. Usually I always mix these 4 ingredients before hand, so when the rice is ready, i just put it in little by little while my other hand keep stirring the rice.

Complete the task by stiring evenly, and enjoy~ You can serve it warm or cold.

Nasi goreng Tuna

Hehehe....
Anyway, i am proud to myself, karena sekarang aku udah bisa masak lohhh guysss!!! Hahaha... Seriously, ternyata aku punya bakat terpendam (nyahahahah...., sok pede banget ya...) Dulu mah bisanya telor goreng sama masak indomie. Masak nasi aja kelembekan wahhahaha.... Anyway sekarang mau share resep nasi goreng tuna ala bule.

Ingredients / Bahan-bahan:
- Yesterday cooked rice / Nasi sisa kemarin.
- Canned Tuna / Tuna kalengan.
- Eggs / Telor ayam.
- Carrot / Wortel, potong kecil-kecil.
- Onion / Bawang Bombay, potong kecil-kecil.
- Salt, Pepper, Sweet Soy Sauce, Chili (optional) / Garam, Lada, Kecap Manis, Cabai (tambahan).

Hehehe... Kalau yang udah biasa masak, asal tahu bahannya aja, udah tau kira-kira masaknya gimana, ga perlu di ajarin lagi. Aku masak dari awal sampai akhir selalu pakai api sedang. Yu disimak....
1. Panasin minyak sayur, terus masukkan bawang bombay, tumis sampai warnanya agak bening dan wangi. Inget, musti di aduk terus, biar nggak gosong, kalau gosong nanti pahit ga enak.
2. Masukin wortel yang sudah di potong kecil-kecil. Biar bercampur sama si bawang bombay, dan aduk terus.
3. Kira-kira udah mateng wortel-nya, masukkan tuna kalengannya. Aduk sampai merata.
5.Terakhir masukin nasi-nya. Aduk sampai rata, pakai api besar. Tambahin lagi bumbu-bumbu secukupnya sesuai selera.
How to ??
1. Heat the oil, onion in. Stir until translucent.
2. Carrot in, stir until cooked.
3. Tuna in.
4. Eggs in, and all the spices, mix all together.
5. With the high heat, rice in, and mix all together. Add more spices according to your taste. Enjoy~

Hasilnya guys, cepat, mudah, murah, nikmatttt!

Korean-Japan Omelette Roll ala bazk3t

My mom cook for me everyday, but sometimes when she and me just bored eating meals that made by same hand everyday, she will let me become a home chef  on the time to make something different. lol. Today's Menu is Omelette Roll, yeay!!

Just to the point, lets prepare the ingredients:
- 3 or 4 beaten eggs
- chopped green onion / can add chopped carrot and onion also
- beef corned / spam / sausage or any meats available
- tomato sauce
- dried salted seaweed layers
- cooked rice
- oil for fry
Well, make sure all ingredients are available before cooking, and i always choose simple dish with simple ingredients that you can find at your home anytime. So why Korean Japan then? Because Japan Omurice Roll is not using dried seaweed layer, and korean omelette roll do. And Korean omelette roll is not using tomato sauce on rice. I mix all of this, and become Korean-Japan Omelette Roll ala chef bazk3t!

Lets make it then!
1. Heat the oil, just like 2-3 table spoon, and put all chopped things (such as green onion, carrot, and onion), stir it for like 3minutes.
2. Add meats, i am using beef corned, stir again until you can smell the deliciousness.
3. Add rice and tomato sauce. Mix it gently until properly mixed. Then put it aside for a while.

Now this is the hardest part, but challenging!
1. Add 1-2 table spoon of oil, and add the eggs but not all of it. Just like 1/4 portion.
2. With low heat, spread it even on the pan, and let it cooked slowly.
3. After like half cooked, you add the dried salted seaweed layers in front off the eggs, and add the rice that we cooked and mixed before.
4. Now you have to roll and flip!! And let the dish only taking half side of the pan... and again add more eggs in the clean side of the pan, then roll it again. Do it until all eggs finish!!
Well... not so beautiful, but still taste okay!
Yeahhh hardest part because i put too much rice, but still... tasted good ya. I am just thinking, for next time, i should put some chopped chili to make it more indonesian-ish. LOL Or adding some cheese to make it more western-ish sounds good also!! Yeahhh, people do that, so why not?!

Taiwan Tea Eggs

- sepotong kayu manis
- black tea
- gula
- soy sauce (bisa diganti kecap asin campur kecap manis)
- telur ayam

Cara masak:
1. Rebus telornya dulu 6-7menit, lalu sisihkan.
2. Bikin bumbunya, caranya? campurin semua bumbu yang udah disiapkan lalu rebus jadi satu dengan air. Gula garam secukupnya sesuai selera.
3. Pecahkan telur / diretak-kan tapi jgn di kupas, terus cemplungin deh semua telornya ke cairan bumbu.
Hasilnya, cukup mengobati rasa kangen Taiwan. hehehe.... Next time musti pake telor kampung yahh.....

Stir Fry Tomatoes with Eggs

In Taiwan (where I lived, studied, and worked before), whenever I see this tomato-eggs menu on the display table, i will order it immediately without any second doubt. First time I ordered this tomato-eggs dish, I'm not sure how it will taste, would I like it or not, since I'm not quite a fan of tomatoes. But after one determinant bite, I think tomatoes just entered into my heart.
My mom once said, it's okay if you can't cook even though you are a women, but you should have an ability to cook the dish you loved at least! So today, I will show you how to cook tomatoes with eggs stir fry. I think the idea of the dish was came from Chinese.

Before we start, let's prepare the ingredients. As you see the tittle I wrote, tomatoes and eggs are the main ingredients. Ah...For the record, this can serve 2 people.
  • 2 tomatoes
  • 3 eggs
Always add one more egg from the number of your tomatoes. (Ex: 5tomatoes 6eggs, 1tomato 2eggs)
  • 2 tea spoons of salt
  • 2 table spoons of sugar
  • 2 table spoon of cooking oil
Don't be afraid to put too much sugar, because basically tomatoes are sour, so you don't want that on your dish.
  • A little bit of chopped green onion (optional)

Now, lets begin. I promise, you can mastered it just in one try, and it will cost you like only 5 minutes to cook. First, crack the eggs and mix it, then cut all tomatoes into thin slices (we want all the juices from tomatoes comes out!).
  • Put 1 table spoon of cooking oil into the frying pan, heat it and gently put the eggs, stir it into a scramble eggs until no more liquid but not too dry, then rest it into an empty bowl or plate if you like.
  • Next, with the same empty frying pan, heat another 1 table spoon of cooking oil then put all tomato slices, all of it! Close it with cover for 2-3minutes, it will let the juices comes out generously.
  • After 3minutes pass, remove the cover, put all the salt, sugar, and chopped green onion, don't forget to stir it.
  • After another seconds, bring back the scrambled eggs we have before into the fryping pan that full with tomatoes and the juices, stir it gently and break apart all the eggs, let the eggs absorb the delicious tomato juice, then serve.
You should have your lunch or dinner prepared with warm cooked rice. Just sharing another simple recipe and hoping you guys can use it to impress your families! Have a good day.

Stewed Clam with Rice Wine and Butter

By seeing youtube, i found out cooking is so simple, and easy. Taiwan have so many fresh big water clam, you can found it anywhere, traditional market or in any supermarket such as carefour. So i decided to cook with local ingredients, make a simple delicious meal.
Stewed clam with rice wine and butter. I tasted in one of Taiwan's famous night market before, Feng Chia Night market. Then today, i want to make it by myself, who knows i can open my own stand and sell it in the future. Hahaha

Ingredients:
- 600gram of fresh water clam
- 2 table spoons if rice wine
- unsalted butter
- a lil touch of salt and sugar
Well, as you know, cooking is an art and feel, i don't think we can cook with exact designed ingredients only. So improve baby!

First tried, i was using too much rice wine and only 2 small packed of salted butter, plus salt. But later on, i knew it, don't put too much rice wine, rice wine is only for let the clam cooked with fat richness with juices. So 2 table spoons is enough.
Then, using only unsalted butter, or you will only tasted the saltiness, not the sweet taste of the water clam. And don't afraid put it too much. 3 table spoons of butter will make a tasty meal.
A little touch of salt and sugar if you want, i don't think its needed. Put all the things in one pot, cover it (must cover to let it cooked fast), then cook with high heat about 2minutes.
Until all the clams are opening one by one, and the bubble from the rice wine rise up. Then open the lid and serve! Yum~~~

Deep Fried Oreo / OREO Goreng / 炸Oreo

Buat yang belom pernah denger apalagi ngebayangin rasanya, pasti bingung banget, apa enak yah oreo goreng? Eitss, jangan salah!

Ingredients alias Bahan-Bahan:
-Oreo
-All purpose flour
-Milk
-Eggs
-Salt and Sugar
-Vegetable oil
-Butter (optional)
1 egg, 1,5 cup flour, 1 cup fresh milk, 1 spoon of sugar, 1 tea spoon of salt. If you think it is too sweet, than reduce the sugar (because i think the oreo itself is sweet enough already).
Gampang banget caranya.

Campuran adonan itu, temen-temen cuba pake feeling lah ya, kalau merasa terlalu encer ya tambahin lagi tepung ya sdikit demi sdikit. Sampe kekentalannya pas.
Setelah semua bahan tercampur, terakhir baru cemplungin oreo ke adonan satu per satu, lalu goreng di minyak panas. Sampai warnanya kekuningan, angkat dan lgs sikatttt~
Fried oreo alias oreo goreng or bahasa mandarinnya zhá oreo. Luarnya krispy, dalemnya guwy gitu, gmana ya...empuk tapi ga benyek. Ga ada aneh-aneh nya sedikit pun. Kalau iseng musti di coba deh. Wajib!

Time for Kimchi Pancakes Recipe

Thinking about korean food, first thing that comes into our mind must be kimchi, sweet sour salty spicy of Chinese cabbage pickle. Not all of it are using Chinese cabbage, you can use radish, cucumber and others, but the most traditional one is Chinese Cabbage.

With one kind of kimchi, you can make so many kinds of Korean Fusion Food. Likes kimchi fried rice, kimchi soup, kimchi pancakes, kimchi dumpling, even kimchi hotdog, and so many. Show your imagination girls!

Now, i got free kimchi from my Taiwan friends, lol not Korean. Taiwan people also loves kimchi, and after the time passes, so many Taiwan people are getting more and more skillful to make a delicious kimchi. When winter time almost finish, after Chinese new year, Chinese cabbage season is coming, it is time to make kimchi!

So lets make kimchi pancakes!! Ingredients:
1. Cut kimchi (kimchi yang sudah dipotong)
2. Onion (bawang bombay)
3. Chopped chili (cabai yang sudah dipotong)
4. Salt + Sugar (garam + gula)
5. Flour (tepung serba guna)
6. Kimchi juices (air kimchi)
7. Water (air putih)
8. Vegetable oil for fry (minyak sayur)

About how much the correct amount for you to put the ingredients, well i can't answer precisely. Depends on your spiciness level, how strong you like your kimchi flavor in the pancakes, do you like onion or not? All depends, but one thing for sure, do not afraid to put too much flour, i learn that more flour its mean more crispiness on your kimchi pancake.

I love to lightly fry my chopped chili first with a lil bit of hot oil to remove the raw chili flavor. Then put all the ingredients in one bowl, mix and stir it until you got the texture! Why put sugar? Trust me, it will be more delicious.
Heat the vegetable oil in your frying pan, and put the dough on frying pan with medium heat. Wait until the bottom side of the pancakes become golden brown, and flip it! Again, wait until the surface become golden brown, together with your spatula pressing down all the surface for removing any excess water in the middle of the dough. After that, once again flip it over, wait and follow your instinct, and its done!
So simple so easy so fast. Smell delicious, and taste great! Yummy! My hardest part was when i need to flip it over, without designed tools and courage to flip it like in the cartoon movie... LoL

This is it! Kimchi Pancakes! I tried it, it is not that i am gonna bragging about my dish (well, actually i can't really cook except trying my best), but this is great, this is delicious, so much better than the one that i ate at korean resto in Taiwan, why? My creation is strong flavor, spicy, and smell good. Just one little mistake, first time i cooked it, i can't get the crispiness that i wish for, but next time, i am sure i can make it more crispy!
There is possibility for adding some mince beef or pork, peeled prawn, or cut squid. Well, enjoy the recipe~

Grilled cheesy sandwich and guarantee everyone love it~

I know its very common, but have u tried it yourself? Some yes some no... however, how about try it today, take a picture of the melting cheese and share it to your friends, absolutely everyone will drooling! LOL

So the ingredients is very easy, just prepare the butter or margarine, cheese and bread. But u can add others ingredients that u feel fit. I myself add some chili paste, salt, and black pepper. But the margarine that i used is not really recommended, try to use butter for better taste.

First heat the pan, meanwhile spread the butter into both sides of the bread. After that set the fire into low-medium heat, and grilled the bread, wait until its really cooked so u will get crispy taste outside and creamy taste inside. Add a lil bit cooking oil if u have for make the bread more crispier.

Always check the bread, don't leave the bread or else it will be burned, then cook another side of the bread, do the same thing. While grilling another side of bread, you can spread the others ingredients (chili paste, salt, and black pepper).

The main point, just put the cheese as much as u want. I use a simple cheddar cheese, lets see what is your favorite cheese... Last, put the bread become one set, and seal the cheese inside the bread.

Let the bread become crispy, melting cheese inside the bread, then cut it half,, and enjoy~~~ See how beautiful it is~~~ Yummmm...

Fresh Fun Delicious Kiwi Juice

Some people may not like kiwi juice, its because too sour and feel a lil bit itchy inside the throat after drink it. But do you know how healthy is kiwi fruit?

So lets try this recipe, and drink kiwi juice will be more fun. I got this while i lived in Taiwan, and you know already that Taiwan famous about their beverage tea drink shop which is stand at every side of the road. I got a chance to learn the art of beverages. Hahaha...

Ingredients :
- 3pcs of peeled kiwi
- 3bottles of yakult
- 40cc of peppermint syrup or u can change it using fresh mint leaves which is more healthier
- 60cc of sweet honey
- 3 cups of ice cube (1cup about 170gr)
- 150cc of water

And.....Blend it all together~~~~~!!!
This is for 2 glass of 700cc, serving for 2-4people.

If too cold, reduce the ice cube, 1cup ice cube=140cc water.
If too sweet, reduce the honey.
If too lazy to make? Just come to Taiwan and buy it at beverage drink shop :p cost around 60nt/glass.

Lu Rou Fan  (滷肉飯) atau bahasa awamnya nasi babi taiwan, kalau bahasa inggrisnya braised pork on rice.

Jadinya kuputuskan masak sendirii! Bahan-bahan sudah d kumpulkan dulu sebelum masak. Apa aja?
-daging babi bagian lemak 300gr(samchan)

-selai kacang 1 sd teh
-gula pasir 1/2 sd makan
-merica 1/3 sd teh
-bawang merah secukupnya
-air

TAMBAHAN:

Hehehe

Cara masak:
1. Daging direbus pakai air panas mendidih 3menit agar baunya hilang. Masak sampai kotoran hitam-hitam busa-busa keluar.

Thank youuu yaaa....
